Chilli Rating:

I was a bit worried that this restaurant was going to disappoint having eaten there a few times over the years. With that in mind i am pleased to report that although the restaurant itself is quite basic the food was very nice indeed.

I went for a Lamb Adrock which is a nepalese dish. I  would advise asking them to throw a few more chillies at it to get it up to madras level if you prefer a bit more heat.

The starters were very good with the poppadoms putting on a good show as well, when i say show i mean they were crispy and well cooked, not that they performed a quick dance routine or anything like that although if they had i would have definitely marked them higher.

Service was attentive and professional once we had got the awkward incident at the beginning out of the way... Just a thought Cove Tandoori, either never leave front of house unattended or invest in a door bell to alert staff of incoming hungry curry heads.

All in all a very enjoyable evening was had by all and i would be very happy to recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting a decent, un fussed, tasty and very good value for money Curry experience.

Chap 4 Review:

So the Cove Tandoori: it's one of those restaurants that just seems to have been around for ever !!

The Chaps visited on their normal Monday evening and the restaurant was completely empty - staff included ! - and we were left waiting to be seated for getting on for 5 minutes before our presence was eventually noticed and someone came out to seat us.

I have to say though, from their initial poor greeting, from there the levels of service really did improve; the food was of a very good quality, with a wide range of dishes and the usual lager suspects on draught.

Cove Tandoori offers a more Old Skool experience for the diner, but represents good value for money and I left feeling satisfied and full, but not uncomfortable.

This had great curb appeal for me with being able to park right outside.

Off to a bit of a slow start with us being there before most of the staff but quickly recovered by showing us to a window table.

The interior had an old school curry house feel which I guess hasn't changed much over the years but is still clean and tidy.
There is a good selection of drinks with the usual suspects on draught.
The menu was packed with dishes I had not come across before, which I liked as it gives you a new avenue for taste.

The starters were of a good portion.
The mains were also of a good size and left me satisfied.

Overall I felt the food was great and really enjoyed the dish I chose albeit a bit of a creamy girlie dish but still yum.
The whole experience was pretty good and would love to go again, the prices also were good and value for money was excellent.

If you are a local and have not tried Cove Tandoori, it is a must.

The Cove Tandoori has been a long standing local attraction which has kept diners coming back for years - so how did it measure up against the Chaps rigorous review ???

Well in truth not too bad at all......

Unfortunately the evening started rather badly with us entering the establishment and no staff around and no one even realising we were there for about 5 minutes !!!

But after this stumbling start they recovered well in terms of their customer service.

The menu was varied and contained some dishes that we had not come across before.     The food was of a very good standard, packed with lots of flavour and the portions were of a decent size too, leaving us nicely satisfied without being uncomfortably full.

Price wise the Cove Tandoori came out as the cheapest per head of all our reviews to date, but scored very high in the quality of their food, which makes this restaurant a very good choice  for anyone wanting a decent curry at very reasonable prices.

Overall a lovely curry house with very nice food which I wouldn't hestitate in recommending to friends and family. Definitely worth a visit !!!
